Abstract
1,124,884. Hydraulically operable transport systems. O. K. JOHANSEN. 30 March, 1966 [31 March, 1965], No. 14015/66. Heading B7L. An hydraulically operable transport system for transport of tunnel kiln trucks outside a kiln comprises a floor-mounted draw-bar 4 reciprocable in the transport direction by a double-acting hydraulic piston-and-cylinder (not shown), and comprising an inverted channelsection iron or steel rail on which are welded cleats 3 engageable with pawls 2 pivoted in yokes 1 on the trucks, the inverted channelsection rail 4 overlying an iron or steel channel section rail 6 grouted into the floor of the track and supporting rollers 5 being freely disposed between the rails 4, 6. Each pawl 2 is suspended on a shaft 7 in the yoke 1 and comprises a weight 9 which maintains the rear face of the pawl vertical and further acts against the yoke 1 on the truck to prevent anticlockwise movement beyond that position. The pawl is thus rotated into an inoperative position during retraction of the draw-bar, and may be held in such a position by a dowel 8 in the yoke 1.
