Abstract

1,124,788. Lamp-holders. WALSALL CONDUITS Ltd. 4 Jan., 1966 [24 Dec., 1964], No. 52403/64. Heading H2E. [Also in Division F4] A lamp assembly 10, Fig. 2, which houses a fluorescent tube 16 is supported on a ceiling C, Fig. 5, by means of a hook-and-eye connection 25, 60 and a carrier 41, the assembly and the carrier being provided with complementary parts 35, 45 of a plug - and - socket connector through which power is supplied to the tube and the hook-and-eye connection being unreleasable whilst the plug and socket are in engagement. The assembly is secured to the carrier by a screw 39 which is held captive in a lug 38 and engages a threaded opening 50 in the carrier, and the lug also carries a pin 40 which enters a passage 56 and displaces a spring-loaded plunger 57 carrying a locking lever 59. This lever co-operates with a switch 51 controlled by a handle 53 and prevents the switch from being closed unless the lamp assembly is in position.
