Abstract

Selenols are prepared by reacting sodium selenide with the appropriate chloro or bromo compound and acidifying. Compounds obtained are 2 - selenyl - benzothiazole, - benzoxazole, - benzoselenazole, - 4 - phenylthiazole, - 4 - cyclohexylthiazole, -4-amyl thiazole, -4-(p-bromophenylthiazole), - 4 - (p - methoxyphenyl) thiazole, -4-(p-ethyl phenyl) thiazole and -4-(p-chlorophenyl) thiazole and 1-selenyl octane.
