Abstract

1,123,509. Oscillating-vane actuators. ASSOCIATED CARGO GEAR A. B. Jan. 24, 1967 [Jan. 24, 1966], No.3537/67. Heading F1F. In an oscillating-vane actuator comprising a cylindrical housing 1, Fig. 1, provided with endcovers 2 and having at least one radial abutment 7 subdividing the housing into compartments into which pressure liquid is alternatively admitted and discharged and a coaxially mounted rotor having at least one radial vane 5 co-operable with the abutment, the central part 4b of the rotor within the housing is greater in diameter than its end parts which are journalled in bearings 10 supported in bosses 2a of the end-covers 2. The inner ends of the bosses 2a and the ends of the central rotor part 4b are recessed and spaced from each other to receive a "T" sectioned sealing member 11 having an outer diameter the same as the diameters of the boss and control rotor part to seal against the vanes and abutments as well as the boss and central rotor part and the bearing 10. The plain bearings 10 may be replaced by either ball or roller bearings.
