A rotary-piston I.C. engine of the trochoidal n and n + 1 lobe type comprises a substantially triangular piston (5), Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), lodged in a two-lobed chamber (a) defined by a casing 1 having end or side walls (2), the inner surface 11 of each of said walls being rendered wear-resistant by e.g. spraying molybdenum thereon, within an area b situated symmetrically on either side of the minor axis of the inner peripheral surface of the casing.
