Abstract

112,299. Smith, R. W..Jan. 2, 1917. Spring devices.-In an anti-vibration device for motor-cycles &c. in which the near road wheel is carried by an oscillatory frame consisting of a rigid substantially triangular structure pivoted to the main frame at its front lower corner, main and rebound coiled compression springs, arranged concentrically, are interposed between the upper corner of the oscillatory frame and the upper part of the seat pillar of the main frame. A stem d secured on the seat pillar by a clamp passes though a sleeve h secured to the auxiliary frame q. The spring g is placed between a flange on the sleeve and a flange on the stem, and the spring l between a washer on the end of the stem and the base of the sleeve. The stem d has flats on its side, and the eye in the sleeve is shaped to fit against them.
