Abstract

1,122,515. Vehicle suspensions. DAIMLER BENZ A.G. 11 May, 1966 [11 May, 1965], No. 20895/66. Heading B7D. In a vehicle wheel suspension each wheel 10 is guided on the vehicle frame 12 by a guide member 11 and is supported by a coil spring 13 on a lever 14 pivoted to the frame, the levers 14 of two wheels being connected by a rod 15 consisting of two parts 16, 17 connected by a resilient member 18 and the rod 15 being pivotally connected to a lever 19 pivotally mounted on the frame 12 and having its free end 20 lying between stops 21, 22 which can be moved towards one another by means of spreader pistons 24, 24a in a cylinder 23 to restrict the movement of the lever 19 or clamp it fast so that the rod 15 can no longer effect wheel pressure compensation. The member 18 is of piston and cylinder form with a spring therein and may be liquid filled.
