1,170,613. Vehicle suspensions. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. 14 Nov., 1966 [19 Nov., 19651, No. 50883/66. Heading B7D. A rigid axle suspension in a motor vehicle comprises a leaf spring 3 pivoted at 4 to the vehicle and connected by a slide block 7 to a forked guide arm 8 which is pivoted to the vehicle at 9 and supports a pneumatic spring 6. The axle may be in tandem arrangement with a further axle supported by a pivoted arm 11 mounting a pneumatic spring 10. The springs 6 and 10 are interconnected by a conduit 12 which may be controlled by an adjustable restriction and shut-off valve 13. In a modification, the guide arm 15 is mounted transversely and engages the end of the spring 3 in a slot 18.
