Abstract

1,122,113. Control of A.C. motors. ZINSERTEXTILMASCHINEN G.m.b.H. 21 March 1966 [20 March, 1965], No. 12329/66. Heading H2J. [Also in Division G3] A device which senses the amount of carded band in a store between a carding machine and a drawing frame provides signals for stardelta switching of a three-phase motor which drives the carding machine, whereby the stored amount is kept within predetermined upper and lower limits. The driving motor is started in the delta-connection by energizing deltaswitch 42 and main contactor 41, relay 43 shunting a safety fuse in the motor circuit for a period determined by relay 45. At this stage, the delivery speed of the carding machine is higher than the take-up speed of the drawing frame so that the stored amount increases. Closure of contact 59-1 indicates that the storedamount has reached a maximum, relay 48 responding to energize timing relay 49 for switching off the motor driving the carding machine provided that the drawing frame has not started. If, on the other hand, the drawing frame is switched on, relay 46 is energized to close star-switch 44. whereby the speed of the carding machine decreases to a value smaller than that of the frame After a period determined by the relay 47, the star-switch is opened and the motor is switched to the deltaconnection.
