Abstract
1,129,492. Automatic speed control. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. Feb. 7, 1966 [Feb. 8, 1965] No.5214/66. Heading G3R. [Also in Division H2] An induction motor driving a crane starts to lower the load when switch 40 is closed, the desired lowering speed being determined by the reference voltage at terminals 11, 12. Relay 13 is energized to close contacts 15 whereby contactor 17 is closed. Phase controller 20 ignites controlled rectifiers 1-3 for the motor to provide full driving torque. As the motor accelerates, the output voltage of tachometer generator 10 opposes the reference voltage so that the controller 20 delays the firing pulses for the controlled rectifiers to reduce the stator voltage. If the motor is over-driven by the load, the error signal is reversed so closing contactor 16 and opening contactor 17. The controller 20 operates to increase the motor voltage so that a braking torque is produced.
