Abstract
In the rotary target of an X-ray tube comprising a molybdenum base body having a layer of tungsten or tungsten alloy (e.g. W-Re) at least over the electron impact area, the molybdenum of the base body is alloyed with titanium and/or zirconium, which make up a total proportion of 0.05-2% by weight of the base body. Up to 0.3% by weight of carbon may also be added. Examples given are, (a) 0.5% Ti + 0.08% Zr + rest Mo; and (b) 1.25% Ti + 0.3% Zr + 0.2% C + rest Mo.
