Steering by water jets.-In steering apparatus of the kind in which a screw propeller is mounted in a transverse tube, two parallel horizontally disposed beams 1 mounted in the cross tube 10 carry a shaft 3 on which the propeller 13 is fixed. Chains c passed round sprockets 6 are led through channels 4 in the beams to sprockets driven by the motor M. Passages 7 and 8 for oil are fitted in the beams.
