23,357. Wahlen, R. Oct. 8. Driving-arrangements for screw propellers.- Comprises apparatus for driving a propeller from the deck, in which an arm is mounted to turn on a shaft transmitting the power. Fig. 1 shows a plan wherein the arm lies on the deck. The shaft c, on which the arm d turns, is fitted at each end with a belt, chain, or toothed wheel, one of which receives the power from the motor m, and the other transmits the power by a belt, chain, or toothed wheel to the propeller shaft f mounted in the arm d. The arm d or a portion of it may be used as a transmission shaft.
