Abstract

1,120,633. Terminals; terminal blocks. PLESSEY-UK Ltd. 1 Feb., 1966 [3 Feb., 1965], No. 4679/65. Heading H2E. An electrical terminal block comprises a body 2 of a glass-filled nylon material which movably supports solder tags. The body may be mounted on a rail 4 along with other similar bodies. The solder tags are double-ended, the two ends 3A and 3B being mutually perpendicular, and the tags being arranged to slide in a slot on the upper surface of the body to move the ends 3B of the tags into engagement with terminal pins 7 mounted perpendicularly to a component board 6. The tags may have a thin coating of gold and a permanently soldered connection may be made to ends 3A, e.g. from a wiring harness, whereas the connection to ends 3B is between two robust members and consequently may be soldered and unsoldered many times.
