Boards of wood products, particularly chip and particle boards, are covered on one or both sides with an unwoven web of waste fibre resulting from the purification of the shives used for the production of pressed board impregnated with a partially cured synthetic resin, e.g. a urea-formaldehyde condensation product, bonded to the board by hot-pressing. The process may be continuous, a web of impregnated and dried fibres being applied, either as such or in cut pieces, to continuously made board and pressed thereon between hot rollers.
