Abstract

1,119,566. Agricultural implements. MASSEY-FERGUSON INDUSTRIES Ltd. 13 Nov., 1965, No. 48304/65. Heading A1B. A spring trip mounting for an agricultural tool comprises a tool shank 18 pivoted in a bracket 1 and provided with a roller 24 which co-operates with a cam face 36 on a spring-urged returning member 27 which is also pivoted in the bracket 1. For normal working the roller 24 engages in a recess 39 which is separated from the cam face 36 by a raised portion 38. On striking an obstruction the force of the tool increases until the roller passes over the portion 38 against the resistance of springs 56, the roller then keeping in continuous contact with the cam face as the shank moves from its operative to its tripped position.
