Abstract

1,119,295. Ladders. WHESSOE Ltd. 13 June, 1967 [11 May. 1966], No. 20806/66. Heading A6L. [Also in Division El] A tank 10 with a floating roof 11 has a ladder, in two sections 12 and 13, pivotally connected to the tank and the roof respectively. and having free ends 15 and 17 shaped to pivot one about the other when interengaged, the end 15 sliding or rolling along the section 13 as the roof descends from the top of the tank to the position shown, and then supporting the end 17 of the section 12, which pivots about the end 15 as the roof descends lower still. The end 15 may comprise rollers, or flanged wheels, or plain wheels which run in grooves in the stiles of section 13. or ribs which slide between said stiles and parallel rails attached thereto.
