Abstract

1,117,483. Converting rotary into reciprocating motion. UNION SPECIAL MASCHINENFABRIK G.m.b.H. 3 Sept., 1965 [24 Sept., 1964], No. 37652/65. Heading F2K. The end 6 of a connecting rod 5, driven by an eccentric 2, is constrained to linearly reciprocate by a bush 7 therein with a diametral slot 8 slidably engaging a block 14 on the end of an angularly adjustable shaft, and the amplitude and phase of the reciprocation are altered by adjusting the angular position of the block 14. The reciprocation of the end 6 is transmitted by a link 11 to a bell-crank 12 or push rod. The bush 7 bears in a lateral tubular bearing 9 of the link 11 which is pivoted in the end 6. The block 14 may be formed on the bush 7 and engaged with a slot in the end of the angularly adjustable shaft.
