Abstract

111,545. Galloway, R. Dec. 6, 1916. Teeth, artificial.-A denture c, Figs. 4 and 5. is formed with a recess to the base of which a solid pad b of soft rubber of smaller diameter than the recess is vulcanized or cemented so as to leave an annular suction space f. In a modification, Fig. 9, soft-rubber pads h are mounted in dumbbell-shaped recesses j. The recesses may be moulded in the dentures by means of patterns, in the form of open frames, such as a, Fig. 1, secured to the mould by pins passing through countersunk holes e. The soft pad b is placed within the frame a and becomes attached to the denture during vulcanization.
