[Also in Division A5] A device used to restrain a patient in a support such as a chair or bed comprises an elongated tapered belt 12 having a transverse slot 20 adjacent the wide end and a separate strap 18 on each end of the belt for securing the belt to the support, the belt being adapted to be wrapped around the patient with the narrow end of the belt passed through the slot so that a loop is formed. As shown, the straps are provided with holes 26 and a buckle 22 which may be of a type that can be locked. An alternative device (Fig. 3, not shown) is provided with securing straps which are to be secured to the support by tying.
