Abstract

1,112,974. Pinned bars. WM. R. STEWART & SONS (HACKLEMAKERS) Ltd. 31 May, 1966 [31 May, 1965], No. 23070/65. Heading DIN. A stave bar or faller bar B has holes 1 for receiving pins P in a friction fit. The holes 1 do not extend the full depth of the bar but open into a bore 2 of larger diameter which in turn opens into a slot 4; thus the pin may be driven out of the bar from beneath, the lower portion 3 of the pin being of reduced diameter so that after being driven a certain distance the pin becomes loose in bore 1. Only the bore 2 or slot 4 may be provided. An elongated punch designed to fit in slot 4 may be used to simultaneously drive out a number of pins. In Fig. 4, not shown, a similar faller bar having a double row of pins is shown.
