971,339. Knitting machines. ACE ENGINEERING CO. Aug. 17, 1961 [Sept. 7, 1960], No. 29791/61. Heading D1C. A yarn guide, e.g. a knitting machine throat plate, comprises a base member 10 abutting a ceramic insert member, one member having one or more tongues, 42, 44, to engage one or more recesses, 74, 76, in the other member, aligned apertures 46, 78 being provided in the or each tongue and an adjacent part of the other member to receive a pin 80. Preferably the apertures 78 are only provided at one side of the recesses 74, 76. As shown, member 10, e.g. of steel, nylon or steel reinforced nylon, has apertures 30, 32 by which it is attached to the knitting machine latch ring. A filler, preferably an adhesive is placed between the insert and base members.
