Abstract

976,443. Knitting-machines. EDOUARD DUBIED ET CIE S.A. March 20, 1963 [April 11, 1962],No. 11127/63. Heading D1C. A parallel knitting machine comprises needle beds with specially shaped grooves to facilitate single or double gauge knitting. The space z<SP>1</SP> between grooves corresponds to single gauge but groove width t corresponds to double gauge. To produce single gauge knitting all the needles are used but for double gauge knitting every other needle is taken out of action and the remaining needles 4 are replaced by double gauge needles 4<SP>1</SP>. To facilitate the change from single gauge to double is increased to e<SP>1</SP> Fig. 2 (not shown) and the gap f between the beds and lugs 1c is shortened tof<SP>1</SP>,. The springs 5 and securing bolts 10 hold the beds in the required position.
