Abstract
1,112,432. Underwater repair of ships. ESSO RESEARCH & ENGINEERING CO. 14 Nov., 1966 [17 Nov., 1965], No. 48897/65. Heading B7S. [Also in Division E1] A caisson (see Division E1) for use in making underwater repairs is fixed to the side of the ship 30 and provided with pipes 32, 33 for conveying compressed air to the sealing and buoyancy members of the caisson respectively, a conduit 34 for the eductor 38, and a vent pipe 39. Attached to the caisson 31 is a framework 40 supporting a balancing weight 35 and attached to the framework are guy wires 36, 37 and 41, the wires 36 and 41 passing under the ship and up the other side of the hull.
