Abstract
1293521 Anchors A J HARRIS J D HARRIS and R J M SUTHERLAND 31 Dec 1970 [5 Jan 1970] 509/70 Heading B7S [Also in Divisions E1 and E2] Elements of a jointed floating breakwater (see Division E1 may be anchored to a sandy sea bed by concrete blocks 41 (weighing 440 tons) which are sunk into the sea-bed by scouring away sand pressurized water being fed through pipes 47, and an outlet pipe 48 having a coinpressed air supply 49 to assist flow therethrough. A wire 42 extends to each of the four corners of each pair of elements of the breakwater and each wire has suspended from it a sixty ton inner counterweight 43 and a sixty ton outer counterweight 44.
