Abstract

1451537 Subaqueous anchorage K E LANGNER 25 March 1975 [1 April 1974] 14250/74 Heading E1H [Also in Division B7] A method of forming a subaqueous anchorage comprises, floating a device with a depending skirt defining an open-bottomed chamber to a site, by means of air trapped in the chamber, releasing the air to sink the device, and subsequently pumping water from the chamber to cause the skirt to penetrate a subaqueous bed and form the anchorage. The device can be used for mooring ships, or as a foundation for an offshore structure.
