Abstract
1,111,151. Blowing lances. OGDEN & LAWSON Ltd. 3 Dec., 1964 [4 Sept., 1963], No. 34968/63. Heading F4B. In a nozzle through which oxygen is to be introduced into a steel making furnace comprising an oxygen supply duct 10 with four elongated outlets 11 spaced apart around the periphery of a common circle, the nozzle is cooled by passing water from a central pipe 13 through restricted passageways 15 adjacent to and between each of the four outlets 11, to an outer annular duct 14. The direction of flow of the cooling water may be reversed.
