Abstract
1,111,120. Controlled non-linear inductors. S. BROD. 28 March, 1967, No. 14153/67. Addition to 1,026,074. Heading H3B. To reduce harmonic distortion in the A.C. voltage regulator described in Specification 1,026,074, the two controlled saturable reactors (19), (20) have a common magnetic flux path. A four-windowed core 100, as shown in Fig. 1 is used, series-connected D.C. control windings 39-40 being each wound on an inner core limb 103 and passed through a respective pair of core windows. The A.C. winding (17), (18) of each reactor is divided into portions 17a, 17b, 18a, 18b, each portion being wound on an outer core limb 101, 102 and passed through a different window. The horizontal limb formed by parts 106, 107 is common to the magnetic flux paths of the two reactors which are located, respectively, on opposite sides of the limb. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the A.C. windings are wound on the inner limb 103 and the D.C. windings are divided between the outer limbs 101, 102.
