Abstract
1,110,312. Delivering measured quantities of liquid. FAIREY ENGINEERING Ltd. 15 July, 1965 [17 April, 1964], No. 16080/64. Heading B8N. Apparatus for dispensing a measured quantity of liquid, e.g. beer, from a supply comprises a metering tube 10 connected at its inlet end to a two-way inlet valve 11 operated by a solenoid 12 which when energized moves a valve member 26 against the action of a spring 28 to admit compressed propulsion gas to the tube 10 from a conduit 17, and shut off the liquid supply to the latter from a conduit 14, and a liquid sensing probe 80 at the outlet end of the tube 10 is included in an electric control circuit for ensuring that the inlet valve solenoid is not energized unless the tube 10 is filled with liquid. A further solenoid valve 40 is provided at the outlet end of the tube 10 and is opened when energized to allow liquid to be forced from the tube 10 through a dispensing nozzle 43 by compressed gas passing through the simultaneously energized solenoid valve 11. A further liquid sensing probe 81 at the inlet end of the tube 10 controls energization of the solenoid of the outlet valve 40. Alternatively a manually operated outlet valve may be provided.
