1,005,693. Delivering measured quantities of liquid or granular material. KENWOOD MANUFACTURING (WOKING) Ltd. July 24, 1964 [July 26, 1963], No. 29792/63. Heading B8N. [Also in Division F2V] An apparatus for dispensing measured quantities of liquid or granular material comprises an electromagnetically operated plunger E having valve members B, C for closing an inlet F and outlet respectively, the plunger being hollow on the downstream side of the outlet so that the material issuing from a measuring chamber A passes through the hollow plunger. The valve B co-operates with a seat L which is resilient such that when the solenoid is actuated to close the valve B and open the valve C to dispense the material from the measuring chamber A, the seat is deflected until it abuts a guide plate H thus reducing the buzzing effect of the solenoid.
