Abstract

1,108,247. Air filter. A. FIOCCHI. 7 Feb., 1967 [8 Feb., 1966], No. 5679/67. Heading BIT. [Also in Division E2] A two-part housing for the filter of an I.C. engine intake comprises a body 2, having an enlarged upper rim 4 with a sloping face 8a and a flange 3 forming an annular groove 5 therewith, and a cover 7, having a rim 7a terminating in enlarged annular rib 6a, the body and cover being made of resilient plastics. To assemble (Fig. 2, not shown) cover 7 is pushed over rim 4 until its rib 6a snaps into groove 5, and to dismantle rib 6a is levered out of groove 5, with a screwdriver 9. The cover also has an inner annular rib 7b, and rim 4 is received between rim 7a and rib 7b.
