Abstract
1,107,581. Aligning railway tracks:. F. PLASSER [trading as FRANZ PLASSER BAHNBAUMASCHINEN]. April 2, 1965 (April 3, 1964; April 17, 1964; Feb. 10, 1965], No. 14039/65. Beading G1F. In a method of aligning a railway track G at a curve therein using a moving chord 1, 4 defining a track section extending partly over an already aligned region of the track and partly over the track to be aligned, the arc height h 2 at a first track point 2 within the already corrected track region is measured from which the desired arc height h 3 at a second track point 3 within the track region to be aligned can then be ascertained, the track then being displaced at the point 3 until the actual arc height h 3 corresponds to the desired value. The method may also be utilized by employing two straight lines 1, 3 and 2, 4 interseeting at a point 6, the point 6 dividing the lines into sections of lengths e, f, g, i respectively. If the track curve G is an are of a circle then e. f = g. i, and the position of the point 3 can be adjusted to fulfill this condition. Other modifications are described. wherein the point 6 lies outside the arc of the circle and utilizing ropes or rigid rods to represent the lines 1, 3 and 2, 4, the displacememt of the point 3 from the desired position being measured. Means are also described for aligning the track at transition curves between a track sections of different curvature.
