Abstract

1303192 Track aligning machine F PLASSER 22 Jan 1970 [22 Jan 1969] 57292/71 Divided out of 1303191 Heading B7N [Also in Division G1] In apparatus for correcting the alignment of railway tracks using the standard 2-chord method, the leading end of the long chord is positioned by apparatus incorporating a laser beam. The short chord 8 extends from rear vehicle 1 over chord height measuring position 2 to point 13 on the track shifting device 7 and the long chord 6 extends from vehicle 1 over the measuring position 2 to point 17 on leading vehicle 4. The position of point 17 is determined by a member 15 which is moved transversely of the track by manually controlled motor 16 until laser beam 12 from emitter 11 aligns with reference marker 14 positioned adjacent the track.
