Abstract

An NPK fertilizer consisting of monocalcium phosphate, diammonium phosphate, urea, and potassium chloride to be granulated and dried contains all or a portion of the diammonium phosphate in a finely divided form e.g. of less than 2 mm., which reacts by neutralization with the acid content of the mixture. The monocalcium phosphate may be in the form of superphosphate or triple superphosphate containing 3-6% of free acid. The mixture may contain 15-70% of urea. Granulation may be effected in a rotary drum in the presence of steam.
