[Also in Division A4] A blind comprises an upper and a lower assembly 12, 14 of elongate strip 16 supporting members 50 shown as rollers, but may be only the roller supporting rods which may pivot about vertical axes 52, the strip 16 being led over successive rollers 50 alternately in the upper and lower assemblies as shown. To rotate the members 50 about their axes 52, in the upper and/or lower assembly, each axle 52 is secured to the corner of a bell-crank lever (Fig. 6) connected to rods operated by a pulley rotatable to push and pull the rods alternately to cause the axles 52 to rotate clockwise or counterclockwise to open or close the louvre strips between the upper and lower assemblies. The blind may be collapsed by leading the two ends 18. 20 of the continuous strip 16 over pullies 21, 22 to be wound on a roller, the winding up shortening the strip 16 around the supports 50, lifting the assembly 14 (assuming assembly 12 is fixed). The two ends of the strip 16 may be weighted by weights 15, Fig. 3a, which hang loose and the strips between the supports 50 may be gathered together as shown at 32 like a curtain to provide an open blind. The portions of the strip 16 between the supports may also be arranged horizontally.
