Abstract
1,102,613. Electric thermal storage space heaters. WITTE HEIZTECHNIK G.m.b.H. 12 May, 1965 [12 May, 1964], No. 19978/65. Heading F4U. A thermal storage space heater comprises an upper part 1 covered by insulant 11 containing a storage core 10 with embedded resistances 16 and a U-shaped heating duct 8, and a lower part 2 containing a tangential fan 3 and inlet and outlet apertures in a common external face. Inlet air passes through grid 13 and filter 14 along intake passage 9 to blower 3 to be delivered to region 17, wherefrom part flows through U-shaped duct 8 to be heated and the remainder, controlled by hinged flaps 7a, traverses by-pass duct 7 to mingle with the heated air in chamber 18 before being expelled through humidifier 15 and exit grid 12. The exit grid 12 has upwardly curved transverse slats to prevent heated air being drawn into the inlet. The air passage through the heater decreases in area from inlet to outlet.
