Abstract

1,101,153. Cathode-ray tubes. M.O. VALVE CO. Ltd. 25 July, 1966 [28 July, 1965], No. 32261/65. Heading HID. In a plural-beam cathode-ray tube comprising a beam-splitting electrode 11 provided with slots 15, pairs of deflector plates 16 and a pair of deflector plates 23 common to all beams, electrodes 24, 25 are provided in the position shown to control individually the focusing of the separate beams. The electrodes 24, 25 may be, as shown, disposed in parallel planes, the electrode 24 having a narrow vertical slot opening into a relatively wide slot and the electrode 25 having a narrow vertical slot of which the lower half is in register with the narrow slot in the electrode 24. Alternatively, the electrode 24 may be omitted and the electrode 25 split into two. The deflector plates 16 are separated by a screening plate 17 and are surrounded by a box-like structure 22 through which metal support tags extend to six surrounding ceramic insulators 20.
