Abstract

1,100,758. Fixing electro-static images. BORG-WARNER CORPORATION. March 9, 1965 [March 27, 1964], No. 9996/65. Heading G2H. A pressure device for fixing xerographic developed images in electrostatic printers comprises a first roller 21 and a second roller 23 which is mounted in brackets 25 the ends of which are attached to a pivot shaft 26. The second roller 23 is urged into contact with the first roller 21 by leaf springs 32 abutting adjustable setting screws 40 which may be pivoted into and out of engagement with the springs by a lever 38. To allow for misalignment between rollers the pivot shaft is provided intermediate its ends with reduced portions 52 which terminate in rounded end portions 53, Fig. 4 (not shown), received in bearings 27.
