Abstract

1,100,057. Valves. HOOVER Ltd. 4 Aug., 1965 [5 Aug., 1964], No. 33389/65. Addition to 1,049,605. Heading F2V. [Also in Division A4] The suction cleaner forming the subject of the parent Specification is modified in that the valve enabling the filter inlet to be connected solely to the main nozzle, or solely to the hose port, or simultaneously to both the main nozzle and the hose port, is capable of partially connecting the filter inlet to the hose port without restricting the passage for air from the main nozzle to the filter inlet. The rotary cylindrical valve plug 56 has a passage 60 therethrough defined by a divergent V-shaped wall 58 of sufficient circumferential extent to span the whole of the port 48 leading to the main nozzle (not shown) and at the same time part of the port 52 leading to the hose port 37. The wall 58 may also span the whole of the port 52 and at the same time part only of the port 48.
