Abstract

In an arrangement having a pair of input paths 3, 4 selectively connected by changeover switching means 2 to a pair of output paths 1, 5, an auxiliary unidirectional source is connected across one pair of paths and means responsive to unidirectional current in either direction are connected across the other pair of paths to indicate an incorrect condition of the switching means. The switching means may comprise the contacts 6 . . . 9 of four bi-stable dry reed relays having operating windings 27 . . . 30. In the arrangement shown, a D.C. source is connected between earth and a resistor 10 so as to be across the output paths 1, 5. Relays 14, 15 and rectifiers 17, 18 are connected across the input paths so that with the switching means 2 correctly operated one or other relay 14, 15 is energized and closes its contacts 31 or 32 to energize an indicating lamp 35 or 36. The operated relay 14 or 15 also opens contacts 33 or 34 in series with a warning lamp 37. If the switching means are incorrectly operated, neither relay 14 or 15 responds and the warning lamp 37 is lit.
