A.C. transmission coupling circuit includes an additional impedance and a switching device which disturbs automatically the resonant condition in response to a determined excessive current flow. The switching device may be a series or parallel L.C. circuit, a saturable reactor, a pair of reverse parallel controlled valves, or a mechanical switch and the impedance may be connected serially with the circuit or in parallel to one of the components.
