Abstract
Corrosion resistant coatings of chromium are deposited on nickel coatings from an aqueous chromium electrolyte to which has been added aluminium oxide, titanium oxide or ceramic powder, the added material leaving a grain size of 0.2 - 0.6 microns. The ceramic powder is a mixture of calcium alumino silicate and aluminium silicate. The added material may be present in amount from 2 to 300 grams per litre and is kept in suspension by blowing in air or agitating the electrolyte. missing page 246
