Abstract

1,097,548. Developer compositions. CHEMISCHES LABORATORIUM FRITZ. WALTER LANGE G.m.b.H. Oct. 11, 1965 [Oct. 12, 1964], No. 43068/65. Heading G2C. A photographic developer solution comprises an aqueous alkaline solution containing a sulphite salt, and as a developer, a mixture of (i) 2, 6- dihydroxypyridine, an acid addition salt thereof e.g. the hydrochloride or the 3-carboxyl derivative thereof, and (ii) a developer which is a synergist for a hydroquinone type developing agent e. g. p-amino phenol, p-methylaminophenol, 1-phenyl- 3-pyrazolidone, 1-p-aminophenyl-3-aminopyrazoline or 4-amino-5-pyrazolone. Fixer developers contain as component (ii) a pyrazoline of formula: in which X is -NH 2 , -NHR or OH, where R = alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aryl, sulphoalkyl or carboxy alkyl and a thiosulphate. The developers may also contain borax, boric acid and copper sulphate.
