Abstract
1,219,315. Photographic processing. EASTMAN KODAK CO. June 26, 1968 [June 27, 1967], No.30447/68 Heading G2C. In the reversal processing of exposed silver halide emulsions there is used as first developer a solution containing a silver halide developing agent, an aminoalkanol and a mercapto-substituted nitrogen containing heterocyclic anti-foggant which is optionally in the form of an alkali-metal, NH 4 or organic amine salt. The exposed emulsion may be processed by either (i) developing with the first developer, bleaching, fogging and developing with a second developer which may be the same as the first developer, or (ii) developing with the first developer, fogging, colour developing, bleaching and fixing. Preferred anti-foggants contain an - SX group (in which X is H or a cation) bonded to a pyrimidine, trizine, tetrazole, triazole, imidazole, diazole, oxadiazole, or thiadiazole ring.
