Abstract
Used bituminous material is restored by heating to a fluid state in such a way as to avoid any substantial loss of volatiles and to avoid any substantial chemical change as would occur if the material were to be heated in air. A solvent, e.g. a hydrocarbon or chlorinated hydrocarbon, may be present and may be recovered and recycled. The pressure during heating may be atmospheric, or above or below atmospheric.ALSO:Used bituminuous material is restored by heating to a fluid state in such a way as to avoid any substantial loss of volatiles and to avoid any substantial chemical change as would occur if the material were to be heated in air.
