Abstract

Electrostatically uncharged insoluble sulphur is produced by adding 0.5-2% by weight of bitumen to sulphur. The bitumen is soft to medium hard and has softening point 44-72 DEG C. The bitumen may be dissolved in an organic solvent, or may be mixed with 1-5% of a mineral acid and added to virgin insoluble sulphur. The product is readily dispersible in rubber mixtures.
