Abstract
1,095,971. Valves. H. TEVES, E. A. TEVES and M. TAUSEND, [trading as ALFRED TEVES MASCHINEN - UND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMM. GES.]. March 30, 1965 [July 15, 1964], No. 13435/65. Addition to 983,010. Heading F2V. A valve for use in a braking system comprises a valve member 4, which is opened by a push rod 6 when a sleeve 12 is moved to the right, the rod being engageable in a groove 11 of the sleeve and being raised out of the groove when the sleeve is moved to the right and the rod has engaged a stop 9. The sleeve 12 is slidable on a piston rod 2 connected to a piston 15 and a piston 17 is urged into contact with the end of the sleeve 12 by a spring 16. In operation, the rod 2 is moved to the right by the brake pedal and acts through the spring 16 to move the piston 17 and sleeve 12 to open the valve 4. The fluid then flows from the inlet to an outlet 18 leading to one brake system and also flows to act on the end face of master cylinder piston 15 to force fluid to a second brake system. The fluid at the outlet also flows through a port in a sleeve 12 to act on piston 17 which is moved against the spring 16 at a predetermined pressure to allow flow to the sump through an exhaust outlet 24.
