Abstract

1,095,262. Counters. MINISTER OF TECHNOLOGY. May 21, 1965 [Feb. 21. 1964], No. 7361/64. Heading G4D. Each rotation of an internal driving cam 22 depresses cam follower 25 and arm 23 against the action of a leaf spring 28 to withdraw pawl 27 from one tooth of an internal ratchet 29 and engage the next. When the cam follower leaves the high point of the cam the pawl 27 advances the ratchet and its associated numeral wheel 30. The springs 28 of successive numeral wheels are progressively stronger, whereby carry through several denomination may be effected without excessive stress. The counter may be set manually to any desired number after shaft 37 has been rocked to free the detents.
