Articles are delivered from magazines 40 by spaced fingers 41 on a shaft 14 connected to an external operating handle 16 and rotation of the shaft is normally prevented by a spring- loaded latch 27 which is normally held in the path of one of several abutments 18 on a disc 17 and includes a gate for the passage of a coin to one of a number of coin slots 26 associated with the disc 17. Coins slots 26 corresponding in number to the abutments are formed between the disc 17 and a ratchet disc 24 and, on initial rotation of the shaft 14, the edge of a coin which has passed the latch into one of these slots will engage a shoulder 31 on the latch and raise it clear of the approaching abutment 18; the latch may be constructed to lift only when a required number of coins, say three, are in a slot. In order to locate each coin slot correctly beneath a coin funnel 11 leading from a coin selector mechanism such as that described in Specification 871,249, the curved end 34 of a spring-loaded lever 32 can engage in recesses 36 of a member 19. A full-stroke pawl 37 engages the ratchet 24 but, to allow centring by the lever 32, parts of the periphery of the ratchet are without teeth. Two of the fingers 41 have the same angular position on the shaft 14 so that once in every complete revolution of the shaft an extra article will be delivered.
