[Also in Division E1] Apparatus for reclaiming material from a pile at a constant rate comprises a bridge carrier movable towards and away from the slope of the pile and mounting a spiked roller adjustable in inclination to the slope of the pile and a bucket wheel collector feeding a conveyer on the bridge and traversable with the spiked roller at a variable speed along the bridge. In order to control the rate of the feed of material to the conveyer a weighing conveyer is interposed between the collector and the bridge conveyer and if the feed of material falls it will increase the rate of traverse on the bridge to a maximum value and if this is insufficient to raise the feed to the desired value, it will cause the bridge to move forward towards the pile.
